Helping Hands OV does not provide emergency services of any kind. Instead, our mission is to offer occasional help in times of need for those in our community who qualify as low or very low income by California state standards.

This includes:

Single-parent households
Seniors
Individuals living with disabilities
Veterans and others facing financial hardship

By focusing on these moments of need, we’re able to provide caring, reliable support that makes everyday life a little easier.

GARDENER

Whether it’s raking leaves, mowing the lawn, or pulling stubborn weeds, sometimes the yard can feel like too much to handle. Helping Hands OV connects you with volunteers who can lend a hand with light yardwork—giving you back a safe, welcoming space to enjoy.

ELECTRICIAN

If changing a lightbulb or replacing a smoke detector battery means climbing a stepstool you can’t safely use—don’t worry. Helping Hands OV has volunteers who can take care of these small but important tasks, keeping your home bright and safe.

PLUMBER

We know even the smallest plumbing issues can feel overwhelming. That’s why our volunteers step in to help with things like minor leaks, slow drains, or small clogs. These small fixes make a huge difference — saving money, preventing bigger problems, and bringing peace of mind.

HOUSE CLEANER

Going through a tough time and need a little extra help around the house? We know how hard it can be to keep up with cleaning when you’re not feeling your best. Our volunteers are happy to step in for occasional help — tidying up, sweeping, or giving things a light refresh — so you can focus on healing and feeling better. You don’t have to do it all alone; let us lend a helping hand.

ANIMAL HELPER

Need a little help with your furry friend? Whether it’s washing your dog or taking them for a walk, if you’re recovering, temporarily busy, or just can’t manage it right now, our volunteers can step in to make sure your pet gets the love and care they deserve. Because sometimes, lending a helping hand means helping the ones who wag their tails too.
